great views but noisy at night

The amazing views from our room were breathtaking. Having options for breakfast in our room added a lovely touch to our stay.

The noise from the pub below was bothersome at times.

The rooms are super comfy, and we loved the nice little touches like boot covers and a great variety of teas. There are perfect spots to unwind in the garden, making it an awesome place to relax. A minor downside is that the breakfast options are a bit limited, but the local café next door saved the day! 😊

Can't recommend highly enough for a mini-vacation

Clean room, comfortable room, with an excellent view that made our stay truly enjoyable and gave us the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring, while the free parking and convenient location made traveling to and from the nearest airport hassle-free.

The room was super comfortable with thoughtful and effective decor, alongside a pristine ensuite and the added luxury of fresh milk provided. The pub offered a lovely atmosphere despite service hours cutting off food too early, which affected the evening vibe. Excellent location in the main street, but the bar could benefit from a livelier dining service to attract more guests at night.

my stay was so much better than my last trip to castleton. the location was fantastic, making it easy to explore. the warm shower and tasty breakfast were the cherry on top after a long day of walking!

limited options for evening meals

The staff were friendly and quick to assist with any requests. We enjoyed the area, with beautiful views of the peaks outside our window. The food in the pub was enjoyable, and breakfast was served with a smile. Plenty of nature activities were available nearby, which my family appreciated. The overall cleanliness of the rooms was commendable, ensuring a pleasant stay during our two nights.

The room became uncomfortably warm at night. Noise from outside was a distraction early in the morning.

Welcoming vibe & comfy beds

From the moment we got there, it felt really cozy and it totally delivered. The staff were super nice and helpful during our 2 nights. Our room was spotless and had all the essentials. Those beds? So comfy! Had the best fish and chips on Saturday, probably the best I've ever had, too. Only wish the bar stayed open later!

i had a great stay at bulls head! the double room was clean and modern, and the bar below was super convenient for food and drinks. i loved the variety of options at breakfast and the friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. plenty of parking available too!

This place is a commendable fit for a momentary pause in Castleton with great value for the money. The continental breakfast was decent but a hot option would have been better. Be mindful of noise from the main road during your stay.

Absolutely loved the free parking and good coffee selection! The decor was charmingly traditional, and breakfast in bed was a delightful surprise. I’d definitely return!

our stay at the bulls head was really nice! the room was tastefully decorated n super clean. We had amazing views of mam tor. loved the breakfast, it was delivered to our room! the staff were really friendly n made us feel welcome, and the food at the pub was yummy too! best part was that we didn’t need to use the car at all since there were so many lovely walks around.

Breakfast was a delightful surprise, delivered to our room, paired with friendly service. The location was perfect for all our walking adventures in the area, making it easy to explore without needing the car at all.

It was just a proper fit for a city break in Castleton with good value for price. The toasted sandwich from the coffee shop was a nice touch. Bring some ear plugs if you're sensitive to noise.
